Over the past few weeks I have made a lot of progress on my project. I have collected items in many classes. The class with the highest number of items is Miss Hardin's class. The second highest class was Mrs. Seifert's class. Finally tied for third were Mr. Blachly's class and Mrs. MicKinney's class. There were a total of 259 items collected. The items collected were: 15 scarves, 1 long sleeve shirt, 1 vest, 2 sweatshirts, 5 one time use hand warmers, 1 reusable hand warmer, 8 coats, 10 blankets, 45 hats, 3 ear warmers, 26 pairs of gloves, 31 pairs of short socks, 2 pairs of slipper socks, and 114 pairs of long or fuzzy socks. One of the biggest needs of the homeless is the lack of socks. Through this project we have collected a combined 145 long and short socks. These will be such a blessing to the people who receive them. Something so small to us is something huge to the less fortunate. I am excited to give these items to God's Open Arms Ministry so that the homeless can be warm and comfortable all winter.

Since the last time I updated everything, I have found a new way to collect items. I will be collecting items by putting boxes in teachers classrooms. As of right now, I have ten teachers that volunteered to keep a box. There will be a box in each of the following rooms: Mr. Blachly, Mrs. Boehm, Mr. Hodges, Mrs. Huckaby, Madame Judy, Mr. Large, Miss. McGovern, Mrs. McKinney, Mrs. Seifert, and Ms. Meyer. Madame Judy will also be throwing a "French party" for the class period that donates the most items! Over the past few weeks, I have collected boxes to put in the classrooms, contacted teachers, and contacted Mrs. Robinson about putting it in the announcements. I also plan on contacting Mr. Burk to see if he will announce it on NP 120. Items will be collected in the classrooms from November 12th through November 16th.
