My project is "We've Got Your Back". This project works to provide for the less fortunate in our community by making backpacks and bags filled with items such as non-perishable food, socks, water bottles, blankets, etc. Many people are not as fortunate as we are. Many parents struggle to provide food or a home for themselves and their families. As fall and winter approach, many of the people living on the streets struggle to stay warm. The goal is to provide these people with clothes and basic necessities in order to improve their quality of life. My goal is to show them that where God guides, He provides. I chose this project because over the years I have gone to different places around Indianapolis and Greenfield with a ministry called "God's Open Arms" feeding the homeless. The feeling I got from seeing people that have nothing is a feeling that I will never forget. Despite having nothing, these people were full of joy, kindness, patience, helpfulness, selflessness, and thankfulness. There were some of the most genuine people I have ever come across in my short lifetime. I want those in my community and the communities around me to be able to stay warm and healthy throughout the winter. It is important that everyone feels equally loved, accepted, and cared for. Over the course of about 7 weeks, I am working to get donations and to put the bags together.
